Looking for a little help with trying to get 10-20 moa out of my mounting system. I am running x-low optilock rings and bases. I have read I can use the same setup but either shim or mill one of the rings/bases to attain my goal. Out of the two, I like the idea of milling the front down. If this is done is it going to create unwanted torque on the scope or is it minor enough that the plastic scope sleeves could compensate for the "pinch"? If one was to go with a rail, specifically the near rail how do you secure it to the dovetail besides giving it a tap with a mallet and a block of wood? I am not really wanting to go with a rail application because of height and weight issues though. Any insight would be much appreciated. Thanx.
