My dad is giving me a 77/22 and it has the standard barrel and the old synthetic stock. Thinking bout putting a laminate stock on it and the clark custom midwieght barrel. Does this seem like a good idea or is there better options. Thanks.

The laminate stock is a good idea .

I dont know much about the clark custom but Lilja makes a drop in stainless
that is top notch.

I recently rebarreled two anshutz 17 HMR,s with Lilja's barrels and was blown
away with the accuracy (.215 and .294 5 shot group @ 100 yrd's ) But the most
interesting thing that happened was the increase in velocity ( 2605 ft/sec Avg for
the Lilja as opposed to 2439 Avg with the factory barrel on one ,and 2611 ft/sec Avg
on the other build using Lilja barrels. ( Factory barrel velocity was avg 2435 ft/sec
on this one.

Thats over/around 60 ft/sec more than factory barrels.

Look at the Lilja
