I just wanted to give the 204 some props. You mad the right choice by getting a 220 Swift. I am currently working up loads, but I love it. I just had my 220 Swift built, Trued Remington action in Speedy Gozalaz Sleeve, blue printed to a 1/14 twist Lilja 27" barrel, .930 at the muzzel with Holland Brake, McMillan A-4, Jewell 2oz Trigger, Kelby Rings topped with a Nightforce 5.5x22x56mm NXS. It weighs around 15 to 16 pounds. During barrel break in, I shot a 3 shot group, at 100 yards, that measured .139. The kicker is I was using factory loaded ammunition, Winchester Extreame with 40grn Ballistic Silvertips. I can't wait to see what it does with my own loads. The 220 Swift got a lot of bad press in its early development and it has carried over in todays discussions. However, many things have changed including better reloading componets, better barrels, ect. If your looking for a 22 caliber varmint rig and you are an RF (Reloading Freek)like myself, then the 220 Swift is the caliber to have. If your not a big RF, but you like to reload sometimes than maybe the 22-250 is the way to go. If you don't like to reload at all than the 223 and the 204 are probably the better choice. I have owned a 22-250, I previously own a 223 and 220 Swift and by far the 220 Swift is my favorite out of the 22 calibers. I have always been impressed with the Swift's performance compared to the others. I just wanted to let people know that if they were thinking about a 204, for a varmint rig, it appeared to be a great caliber. However, if you want more power for longer ranges, than go with 220 Swift or 22-250. The only advantage the 204 has over the 223, 22-250 and 220 Swift, it has less recoil. Well let me tell you, I have a Holland Brake on my Swift and it barley moves. Talk about seeing varmints blow up in the class, having a brake on a 220 Swift is fun. Good shootin, Wildcat.

P.S. If anybody reading this post has a good load for a 220 Swift, I am looking for some feed back. I am going to try some 55grn Ballistic Tips, H414 powder and 210M primers. I am using Norma Brass. I am looking for my velocity to be around 3800 fps. My Barrel is a 1/14 twist, so I am thinking I might have better luck with 50grn or 40grn Ballistic tips. I would like to shoot the 55grn for more range capability and better wind bucking performance. Any feed back would be great.

[QUOTE="wildcat, post: 99127, member: 4557"] Remington 25-06, I do not care what anybody else sis. The 220 swift will out perform a 204 no matter what. I just wanted to give the 204 some props. You mad the right choice by getting a 220 Swift. I am currently working up loads, but I love it.
