I just bought a sightron sii 6-24 x50 lrmd to put on my 7mm-08 and I am looking at rings and bases. I would like to be able to shoot out to 800 or more yards and I was wondering if I need a 20moa base or not and what rings you guys recommend. I am not totally sure what the point of 20moa base would be either so if you could shed some light on that as well. Thanks guys!

Go ahead and just get standard two piece bases and then buy Burris Signature rings. You can buy the plastic ring inserts that can adjust from 5 to 20 MOA. I have used them on a few guns and absolutely loved them. Most guys on here agree that they are awesome rings. I think that will be your best solution and will probably be the cheapest too :)
