[QUOTE="DocB, post: 827134, member: 55312"] Semper Fi +1 This might help: Objective diameter (mm) ________ (not lens dia., this is the outer objective dia.) + 4mm (for scope cover) ________ divide total by 2 _______ subtract 1/2 tube diameter ______ The total is the bottom of the scope tube height above your barrel/receiver. (assuming a straight, non-tapered barrel, a tapered barrel will give you some leeway) This is the height that your base + rings must equal to keep the objective bell off of your barrel, and adds 2mm for your scope cap/cover. Ideally you would like this height to be as low as possible. Check where the end of your scope bell comes on the barrel, if you have a large taper, you might be able to use a lower ring height. Check your ring manufacturer specs. Some will indicate ring height at the bottom of tube ring, some will indicate ring height at the mid tube height. If you use a rail, this height will be from the top of the rail. If you use a one piece mount, it will be the height above the receiver. Hope this helped.
