That is amazing, the 338 AM is capable of shooting that far. I can't wait to see the Raptor 338 AM!

The bullet makes a big difference. The GS SP 295 has a much higher BC than the 300 SMK and and is capable of greater muzzle velocities due to it's design.

One more thing... you will need a minimum twist of 8.5. 8 would probably be better.

i would have to say i belive dont qote me but i think the only rifle that is anywhere near capable of shoting that far ACURATLY! would be the intervention a 408 cheytack maby a mcmillan tac 50 but im not sure i dont own eather but i would love to own both

I read an article some time ago about praire dog hunting and that the record was 3,126yrds with a. 338x378wby imp 40* like around 141grn h20 capacity with a 34" barrel using GS customs with a 12-42x56 NF NXS and custom 60moa rail. These days it probably would have been much easier with a 8-80x56 March X. Muzzle velocity was somewhere around 3550 I think, at that distance they stated that an unexpected 1mph wind drift moved the poi 8 feet.

I love watching long range shooting. Past 2500meters... I am thinking mortars and artillary.
