Remington 700 SENDERO in 223. Black color. It has a a new Nikon Buckmaster BDC 3x9x50 scope. Been in the safe for a while. We shot a couple times to set the scope. Never went coyote hunting! Invested over $1325.00. Will sell for $1125.00[IMG]

Hey man, not trying to correct you, but that's not a Sendero. It's a 700 VS (Varmint Synthetic). The short action calibers that were blued w/ non-fluted barrels were VS models. The stainless fluted short actions were the VSSF models (but if it was chambered in a RSAUM caliber, it was still classified as a Sendero SF, even though it was a short action).

    Just trying to help...

Wow never noticed the difference! Looks just like my other senderos? Can't find the box. When I bought it, the dealer called it a SENDERO . But it looks like you are right

One exception to that rule.... The short action WSM and SAUM calibers were labeled Senderos, but other than that, you are correct.

Re-read my post....I listed the RSAUM calibers as short action Senderos, but those didn't come into play until around 2001-2002 when Remington was already making the 2nd generation Senderos (Sendero SF models).

Also, back then Remington didn't use WSM calibers, as there was a battle between the 2 companies as to which short mags would take-off and be more popular (Winchester won by a landslide due to ammo options and brass availability). I was still selling guns at the gun shop during this time, so I remember it pretty clear.

For some reason, I was thinking they chambered the WSM's in the Sendero, but I guess it was just in 7 or 8 different models....

They might have in the mid-to-late 2000's, but I'm not sure on that. I know at first, they were only offering their short mags (SAUM calibers) in the Sendero SF models. Remington gun, Remington caliber... Especially since they were competitng against Winchester at the time against the WSM calibers.

Not sure what all they've done with the SFII models, because I don't care for them. My Sendero love stops after the SF model. I don't like the palmswells on the SFII and I don't really care much for the black flutes in the barrels. They look like Accumark wannabe's.

It's a pretty common mistake that the VS (Varmint Synthetic) and the VSSF ( Varmint Synthetic Stainless Fluted) get called Sendero's. Just last month I bought my dad a nice little VSSF 223 and the seller had it advertised as a Sendero 223 also.

FWIW, to anyone looking for a tack driving 223, you needn't look any further that one of these. My dad took the one I got him and never even had to do any load work as it was cutting holes with the very first load he tried. These little buggers just flat shoot. gun)

Great little rifle and best of luck on your sale, I can't imagine it'll last long.
