Remington 700 barrel

Hey, I am just wondering if there is supposed to be rifling all the way down the barrel on the rem700. I ask cuz mine is rifled till about half way down then it seems smooth from there on out. And if that is supposed to be how that is, whats the reason behind it?

If it is a new gun take it back, if it is a used gun sell it to a pawn shop, if it is a stolen gun throw it in a river and walk away quickly. hope this help's.
