Hello I'm in the market for a rangefinder that can consistently range deer sized game out to 1000yds. I really hope I won't have to spend $2000 dollars to get this done but this isn't a cheap sport. This year I used a Leupold RX-1000TBR and though overall I thought is was a good rangefinder, especially for bowhunting I was having trouble getting it to consistently give me a reading on deer in the 350yd range and beyond. Right now I'm looking at 3 different models, the Leica Rangemaster CRF 1600, the ZIESS Victory PRF 1300yd, and the Swarovski Laser Guide 8x30 1500. My questions are am I looking in the right place or am I barking up the wrong tree? Does anybody have any personal experience with these units and what kind of performance can I expect from them? My Leupold will most definitely read a rimrock canyon wall 1000yds away but that does me know good when the intended target is standing in the middle of the prairie or way out in a wide open field. Hopefully someone out there has some 1st hand experience and can provide me with some better guidance on which direction I should go with this. Thanks again.
