Ramshot TAC or Big Game for 308

Which will give me higher velocities with 168 grain vld and a 20" barrel in 308?

TIKKA 595 Master Sporter, factory - no modifications, 24" barrel
NXS 8-32
Here's my pet loads... TAC powder is too fast for this calibre/loads

These loads have the bullets seated 5 thou from rifling.
Lapau brass, CCI BR 2 primers,
These are NOT hot loads
They all shoot .250" @ 100 yds

Berger 168 VLD
Big Game 48.8 grains @ avg. 2721 fps ES 42.14 SD 21.37
Varget 45.5 grains @ avg. 2752 ES 34.32 SD 14.21

Berger 155 VLD
Big Game 48.9 grains @ 2700 fps ES 31.10 SD 16.09
Varget 45.7 grains @ 2813 fps ES 45.67 SD 23.45

I tried a couple pounds of Ramshot Tac when Varget was impossable to get. Despite decient accuracy out of a stock 700P, the heat of explotion is very high with this powder. I found that my barrel was heating up way to quick "ie" 4 or 5 rounds was the max eave when waiting 45 to 60 seconds between shots. I'm sure in my case if continued I would have incured major throat degredation.

varget or imr4064 for me.43-44g of 4064 and 44-45g of varget.both with a 168smk/175gsmk.but I am useing a 5r rem.and that is what mine likes.JOHN

I have used Tac in my .308 win and .222 It worked great and meters nicely. It is slightly faster than varget. I seemed to get the same velocity out of 43 gr tac as 45 gr varget. Black hills uses it in there .308 rounds so it must work pretty good.
