Is it necessary to use magnum primers for 6.5x47 Lapua and/or 6mm Norma BR reloads?
I see suggested loads using one or another, so maybe the answer is that it depends on the propellant?
Thanks

wch,

You've got it. We used Small Rifle in our load developments, but depending on the application and conditions, I might use a Small Rifle Magnum primer. No set rule here, but generally the milder primers will give you better accuracy. However, when dealing with slower bunring powders, some ball powders or extremely cold temperatures, you may want the extra insurance of the hotter Magnum primer.

What are you doing with these, and where? What powders are you using? Answer these, and you'll probably answer your own question about which one to use. Good shooting!
