I need to add another fore-end sling swivel stud on a Remmy VSF.
Remington didn't take into account when setting up their double fore-end stud installation, that Harris swivel bipods partially obstruct the rear swivel stud. The sling rubs against the knurled tightening knob of the bipod and over time will damage the leather. Guess that's what I get for buying a crappy remington. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
So my question is, with the type of stock that is on the VS-series rifles, should I let a gunsmith install it or can I do it at home?
Wasn't sure if special reinforcement is required for this type of stock. If it is required, then that may be beyond my skill level. The new stud will be added about an inch behind the current stud.
Thanks,
Allen
