Well I was really soul searching the last week or two about what to do, I posted up a couple questions asking for opinions and got some great feedback. Keep my 300 RUM or rebarrel to 338 edge In the end it came down to althought I am very happy with the performance of the 300 RUM, I wasn't too keen on the barrel life and I wanted better accuracy than I was getting from the factory barrel. The donor is a BDL SS 300 RUM bedded to a Hi-Tech specialties 26oz stock. Figured if I was rebarreling then why go half way, so I phoned up Rocky Mountain Rifles in Dawson Creek and talked to the gunsmith for a half hour or so. He just happened to have a .338 1:9.5 twist 30" Benchmark SS 5R Fluted 4.5/sendero contour blank in stock with nobodys name on it. Blank weighs 3lbs 13oz and nobody's name was on it....there is now. Barrel length will probably be 27-28" + muzzle brake Full Action blueprinting/truing Bolt sleeved Wyatt mag box installed Holland QD muzzle brake Installed Match Recoil Lug Bedded into my Hi-Tech stock Chambered in 338 Edge and throated for 300 SMK I'm a touch worried that with the lighter stock its gonna be terribly muzzle heavy but I'll cross that bridge later. My preliminary math suggests a naked rifle weight of 7lbs 11oz I'm stoked, now I just gotta send em the donor. ETA is March
