Got one of these for x-mas and want to know what techniques to employ with an electric call. Mainly the volume. Do I turn it way up untill I see one coming or is there a specific volume that is realistic.gun):D

I use my electric call the same way as my mouth calls, first calls sequence is rather low and quiet then louder as i progress. I feel if there's one in close i won't spook it that way, seems to work for me. Most of my areas are moderate to heavily wooded so i feel they have trouble hearing the calls past a few hundred yards. Once i spot a dog I'll cut my volume back near the min and make him look and really focus to spot the source of the sound and that's usually when they'll see the decoy and if i do my part behind the trigger they're leaving with me...
