What is the prefered scope/barrel clearance with scope covers?



What is the size of the outside of a 56mm nightforce objective?

About 72mm diameter with scope cover.

so i would need to get some rings that are .500-.600 high.the barrel is 1.250x30.

I just attempted to mount a 56mm NF on a 20 moa base on a very heavy barrel. The medium (1" high) were not quite tall enough. They looked like they might be, but once torqued down there was no clearance.

NF takes the measurement from the top of the base to the centerline of the ring. Some others use a different measurement.

If u look at the rings on midway they give u the hight from base to bottom of scope for most of the rings they have on hand.
