powder for 340 weatherby?

I recommend Norma MRP .
That is what factory Weatherby ammo ran on for years . Gets the most velocity with least pressure , and I found it to be somewhat tolerant to temperature changes . With freebore at factory specs , 3030 FPS with 250 gr. Sierra Game King , and 250 gr. Nosler partitions , Weatherby or Norma brass , and Federal 215 primers .

I would definitely try RE25, the temp stability issue with it just isn't there.
I use it in 25-06, 264WM, 270 WBY, 300WM, 300 WBY, 300 RUM & 340 WBY (When I had one).
It is an outstanding powder that gives very uniform and low ES/SD numbers and produces higher velocities with less pressure.
It is far less erratic than RE22 or Supreme 780 when max pressure is approached.

Cheers.

Not sure if N205 is still around, I have a stock pile of it still. I believe it got renamed Norma magnum and then Norma MRP now. If so check these out, they are a bit warm but safe in my rifle.

When I had one on a custom Model 70 I built, THE powder for it was RE25, hands down best velocity and accuracy.
I have never found RE25 to be temp sensitive to the same degree as RE22, but your results may vary.
Another powder that worked well for me was H1000, in both instances this was with 225-250gr bullets.
Best results for me with 200gr bullets was always H4350.

Cheers.
I like H1000, Retumbo, and RL33. I like the RL33 the best because it is a nice slow burning powder that fills the case better yielding a more even consistent burn.
