Powder choice

I'm looking for thoughts on which powder choice would be best for my 338-378. I will be using 250 grain Nosler partition, want the velocity to be over 3000 fps, the gun will be used for hunting in varying temps. Thanks for you thoughts.

That's where I would start, Unless you have some WC-872 to try..........

I had good luck w/ h1000 but I dont know the velocity I was gettin.

I would also recommend RL-25 or Retumbo with this case size with 250 gr bullets.

WC872 is really to slow for use with the 250 gr pills. Now if you bumped up to using a 300 gr bullet I would change my recommendations to first trying H-50BMG which is the very best powder I have found for my 338 Kahn(338-378 with 35 degree conventional shoulder) and with these heavy bullets WC872 or US 869 will also work well but not with the lighter 250 gr pills.

YOu will get better performance with RL-25 and Retumbo.
