Point and Shoot Cameras???

I'm looking to purchase a new camera and wanted some input on which ones to look at.

Doesn't necessarily have to be a compact, but I do want good quality from a point and shoot.

Keep in mind most of the time I'm chasing around a 20 month old. Most of the stuff they do is pretty funny and I'd like to get good pictures of it. Currently I have a 4 year old Canon Elph and most of the action pictures get blurry.

Budget is around $300.

No kidding. That's why I pass off those questions unless the issue is extremely close to my own set of photo equipment needs.
