If I was a bow hunter I'd be tempted to silently take one of these out of my front yard!

On my jogging route through Rock Creek park is a doe that usually has twins every year. And every year the babies get hit by cars. I stopped today and watched them for a while and thought about the survival chances of the two fawns due to the mothers choice of nursery.

There is another doe that visits my yard and eats the front off of the shrubbery that is in front of the house so all of my shrubbery looks like it is grown by the wicked witch of the west. Of course the doe visits every house on my block and eats everyone elses shrubbery too.

These deer make their rounds and keep the flowers and plants in check around here. We had a cougar come snoopin around for them last summer. But he wised up and left the neighborhood when the cops hired a houndsman.
