I completely agree....but I would add one more category, shotguns... Home defense shotgun Turkey shotgun Buckshot shotgun Slug gun Bird Gun Semi-Auto Bird Gun Over/Under Bird Gun Plus the normal extras for bringing a friend and backups... We could move on to pistols as well, but I'm not much of a pistol guy except for the one on my nightstand and the one I carry I can't remember who it was, but a reporter was talking to a politician about him owning guns and asked how many he owned and he said "more than I need but less than I want"....sounds about perfect to me! In reality, it also comes back to how much you can afford. If you reload the price goes up even more because you have brass/bullets/powder to buy. I used to go for quantity over quality, but the last couple of years I have been selling off rifles I never shoot to help pay for my semi-customs. I wish I could have afforded to keep them all, but selling them and making room in the gun safe for my new quality guns was less conspicuous to my wife than buying another gun safe which she would have noticed :D
