Well, started to put together my long range rig last night. Win Model 70 coyote in 7mm wsm. I have an EGW 20 MOA base on it right now, and tried a set of Burris XTR tactical rings and a Zeiss 6.5-20x50 conquest . Elevation was fine, but windage ran out. I tried several different rings I had, and even made some brass shims for the rings to try to gain the windage back, but still could not get it where I want it. So, my question is what do I do now? I ordered a set of burris signature zee rings and a insert kit this morning. I had the crow recut on this gun, is it possible the crown was cut canted(I am using a Leupold zero point boresighter, the one that magnetically fits to the muzzle) and that is giving me a false windage target? Or are the holes for the bases tapped off center? I 'checked' them the best I could using a 4 foot ruler, and I saw nothing out of the ordinary, but that would have not shown small errors. Any suggestions you guys might have?
