Optimum Finish length for 338-408

It's all a matter of personal preference...

With that said, I have found no difference in attaining the "accuracy velocity" between the 30" and 33" barrels. I will no longer use the 33" barrel on that cartridge.

good to hear from you Joel! I'm looking do drive the bullets as hard as I can. I was just curious at what point does the barrel length start to work against me.

BTW will be calling on you for another stock in the not so distant future.:D

You can certainly drive them faster than the "optimum accuracy velocity", but not what I would recommend. Not only is it hard on brass, but I have found accuracy to fall off as I drove them faster. Not just in one rifle, but many..
No need to go longer than 33" if you want the "long barrel". The 30" barrel will get you the same velocity...

Give me a jingle and I'll fill you in on all the details..
