Old Weaver scope

Greetings all.

A couple of years ago, I picked up a scope at a yard sale. On the side, it says, "Weaver .22 Tip-Off" and at the eye piece it says B6. Comparing it to my other scope, I'd say it is a 4x20 magnification. Anyone know anything about these? I'm considering putting it on my AR temporarily, until I can afford a better one(build got a little more expensive than I was expecting). Would you expect it to stand up to the recoil of a plain old 223?
