Has anyone necked down & fireformed norma 300 wsm brass to 7wsm spec's?

Awhile back I posted about using norma 270 win brass to make 6.5-06 improved and it got me thinking....

I shoot a 7WSM and while I haven't done it, it can be easily done. A bunch of the BR guys that shoot 7WSMs use 300 WSM Norma brass because they say it is more consistant than Winchester but it is also much softer. Have at her, should be easy enough to do.

I've done it. Very simple.

If you're starting with 300wsm brass, make a false shoulder that fits snug in your chamber and shoot away.

Necking down 300 brass to 7mm may make thick shoulders that need to be turned. My chamber was loose enough to not need it.

Geargrinder, thanks for the input. Did you find the fireformed norma brass to produce better loads than the win 7wsm? I'm interested in reducing ES and SD on my handloads.
