Howdy , I went with the bushnell back in march and have bean very happy with it and it works great out to 1300 or so easily with duracell or energizer batteries, won't range 250 with cheap batteries, that being said if a bad car reck had not ruined my year and my finances I would buy your nikon for my wife I.E. my back up....damb kid in a hotel shuttle van lost it on the freeway hit the barricade three lanes to my right overcorrected and shot out north across the east bound lanes in heavy traffic I didn't get line of site until he was coming straight accross the lane next to me and I had cars on both sides...T-BONED I never even made it to the brakes and someone else hit him head on after he landed totaled all three vehicles and since then 18G+ in medical and 6400+ in wages has made for a rough year................................................................................................... Regarding your dear habit :My wife's uncle (my hunting partner) has decided from now on before shooting anything other than an obvious trophy buck or bull he is going to shoot the ground in front of it and wait for the big one to step out. Guess your not the only one:D.
