Ok I'm looking into building a 30-378 and got pretty much everything figured out besides the scope I'm going between the nightforce Nxs 5.5-22x50 or the Leupold mark 4 6.5-20x50 what does everyone think....

I have a few of them both and they are both good. In my opinion, the nightforce is by far the better scope, and is what I have on all my built guns. If u decide u want a mark 4, let me know I have one that is nearly brand new that I would sale. Dont get me wrong, I like them alot, I just dont think they are as good. They sure cost less though, and I cant afford nightforce on all my stuff so I have been using the mark 4's on my factory guns that are tack drivers. My favorite feature is the zero stop.

Buy 1 Nightforce and you are hooked!
I would highly recommend the NF, you will not be sorry.

If the xtra weight and cost is not a problem for you , go NF. :)

Nightforce. They're for sure a step above Leupolds.

I have no use for FFP scopes since I'm not a run-n-gun tactical shooter and I would not use one to take an animal at long range..... but that's me.

I've only owned the SWFA SS 3-9 but I can tell you the glass on it had nothing on my NF. Perhaps the 5-20's are better?

    That certainly wasn't my experience.

If cost is an issue, I'd take a used good-condition NF over the Mark 4s or SWFAs.

I love my leupolds, but if i could afford it. There would be a Nightforce on every gun i own.

    nightforce,

they have the most consistent scope on the market, vs leupold, which has an older erector system and lens coatings, and as for the swfa, while it might be a good deal, between chinese construction and glass vs japanese construction and glass, the Japanese always wins

i guess ill have to go way out on a limb alone and say nightforce. comparing a leupold mk4 to a nightforce is like comparing a ferrari to a ford escort. (ok thats a exageration but you get the point)
