nightforce nxs 8X32

If you put a 20MOA Rail on your rifle you will be fine. You need 73.50 MOA to get out to 2000 yards with the 300grn SMK with a velocity of 3000fps. I believe the 8x32 NXS has 65MOA elevation adjustment, so the 20 MOA rail will give you enough adjustment to get out to 2000 yards. Good luck.

My experience with the .338-.300 RUM or the "Edge" is that the comfortable accuracy load with the 300 SMK is around 2800 fps. You can run them faster, but the ES goes up and the brass takes a beating.

My .338-.408 shoots the 300 SMK at 3200 fps, and with a custom 27 moa base I can just touch 2000 yards with the 8x32 NXS.

I have a custom milled 46 moa base on my 338 Lapua and I am 3 moa off bottom of my 5.5x22x50 NXS with a 100 yard zero. With a 300 smk @ 2750 MV it took 83 minutes up to shoot 2100 yards. This was at about 4500 fT of Altitude if I remember correctly.

I would recommend getting a Nightforce 40moa base or a Badger 30moa base. I know a few guys that shoot out past 2000yds and they use the NF 40moa base. One of the guys shooter a 416 and he uses as 20moa base and he will get out past 2k. Also they are using a NF NXS 8-32x56mm scopes.
