Newbie need help with scope please.

Hey for everyone. I'm new very new.
I need a little help with my "problem". I have a Savage 10FP .308 24" heavy barrel , and I'm planning to get my first scope.

Nikon Monarch 5-20X44 BDC or Vortex Viper 6.5-20X44 BDC or MIL-dot ???

The Nikon is 40 MOA the Viper is 68 MOA. I already have a EGW Savage RB (Round Back) Picatinny Tactical Rail Scope Mount.
I don't know what rings I need because if I will go with a Viper (most likely) than I need a 30mm rings. What I found here :

Also the guy at the cameraland said I need a high tactical ring!??

My question is If I will go with Viper , what type of rings I need ? LOW, Medium or High?
Or other brand? Please help me , I would like to order today!
If I will get a Nikon Monarch , I already have a Burris Zee Signature 1" Rifle Scope Mount Rings for Weaver Style bases for it.


Soooo, Viper, or Monarch....BDC or Mil-DOT. And what rings??

This is what my rifle looks like with a 20 MOA rail and low Burris Extreme tactical rings. The scope has a 30mm tube and a 50mm objective lens:

PS: I hope the scope at the bottom (6-24x50mm PST) which I have on pre-order will work with these low rings. http://mars-aws.com/node/39

It looks a 1/2 is more comfortable .And u answered to my other question as well, means the EGW rail I have will work
Do you think a Viper 30mm will be better choice than a Monarch?
And what reticle? Mill dot, or BDC?
