The 7stw is about as much performance as you will get in a 7mm bore before you get really short bore life. Most are reporting over 1,000 rounds (I was still shooting sub 1/2 moa at 1,400 rounds with my last rifle) accurate bore life with the 7stw and 600-800 with the 7rum. I've got both a 7stw and 7rum, and if & when my 7rum bbl. is dead it will likely become a 7stw. You will get around 3400 fps with 140 grain pills and 3000+ fps with 175 grain pills. With the lighter bullets it will run with a 22-250 for mid range trajectory and with the heavy bullets it'll nip on the heals of the mid mag 30's with as good or better trajectory. It'll play ball with full throttle loads without needing a muzzle brake; and if you brake it you will have a very mild shooting rifle that hits HARD. It also doesn't take special brass; as long as the 300roy, 8rem, 375h&h, 300h&h, and a few other cals. are around, you can make brass. 7stw brass is around, but rem hasn't made a run in a while so it's mostly nos at twice the price when you find it lately. Rem will get around to selling brass again when the ammo/component run tails off, so buy up brass then, but do get enough to shoot for a couple of years if you get into the caliber.
