[QUOTE="smallbutfierce, post: 600493, member: 38106"] I'm new also, but I think that one thing to be said is that you have to be patient. The weather here in Maine is less than desirable for hunting right now, but I am getting closer every time I go out. I learn something that I can apply to the next hunt. Make sure you keep at it. Today I think I got the closest I have yet in about 30 stands. And all I did was locate them. Still couldn't get them to come out. I have walked miles trying to figure out where they are, when, and how I can dupe them. If the wind was different this morning I think I would have scored. I had to drive back around this monster bog to get downwind, then hike in an area I had not scouted yet. But I tell you, when I let out that long greeting howl and heard the tree line about half a mile away light up with howls, awesome! P.S. Check out Randy Anderson's vids on calling, there is actually one on youtube that covers almost all of what is in his DVD's. There are more actual hunts on his DVD's, but you can get the basics.
