    Hi
I have just purchasd a Remington stainless in 7 RUM. I am looking to replace the plastic factory stock. I am thinking about going with a thumbhole of some type, to help reduce some of the felt recoil. ( trying to stay away from muzzel brake) Let's hear som ideas.
    Thanks for looking
    God bless

Nice thing about this stock is the weight. It does reduce recoil and also has a lot of little areas that a guy could add lead shot to, to reduce recoil even more. It's a nice stock. I've used one a few times.

Bell&Carlson are always a good option too.

Rather than adding lead-shot, you can often install a mercury recoil reducer. The B&C stocks have room for a 1lb.

if you use one of those Choate stocks, i'd recommend skim bedding.the bedding block is not always a perfect match with the receiver.

I absolutely love the bell and carlson adjustable varmint/tactical I recently bought. Feels great in all shooting positions when properly adjusted for me. It does reduce the felt recoil from the factory HS precision sendero stock. I don't know if that's from stock design or slight weight increase.

Check out Stocky's Stocks. They are a sponsor on this site. Also Greybull Precision (no thumbhole). Also a sponsor. It looks like a lot of stock for the price. A few members here have them. Good luck...
