New hunter in San Diego

Anyone know where to hunt coyotes/predators in the desert? It's been a long time since I hunted big game, but I'd like to try hunting these critters.

I haven't got the rifle yet, and I'm thinking about a 22-250 or 223 in a Stevens or other inexpensive gun. I don't hand load, so I have to use factory loads.

I do have a sporter Swede 6.5X55, but I don't know if it would work for this kind of hunting. It has a 6x20x50 Sportsmans Guidegear scope.

The gun you have will more than do the job on anything deer size and smaller. If you don't plan on keeping the pelts, run what you got. I plan on hunting Coyotes with a .308 because right now its the only gun I own.
