im looking at a cooper varmiter in either 25.06 or 6.5*284. Questions:
1 in the 25.06 I'm wondering about if the factory barrel length is enough and if i should have a brake installed?
2 in the 6.5*284 what variation does cooper chamber for and again is the fact barrel long enough?
Sold my weatherby 22.250 and the money is brurning a hold in my pocket and i'm needing ideas on what direction to go here. I only have enough money to do this once so i need to make right dicesions about this next long range varmit and deer rifle. Thanks in advace for your input!!! [email protected]

Cooper offers a 26" barrel as a no cost option for Model 22 Varminters if you want. I don't have any experience with 6.5-284, but my Savage 25-06 has a 26" barrel and I believe it helps burn all that slow burning powder!

Coopers are lighter than most varmint rifles and the brake may help control recoil. Whittaker Guns in West Owensboro, KY, is a stocking dealer and may have your rifle in stock. Good luck ... Mike
