New 7mm build!!

I am planning a new build and am thinking either a 7mm wsm or 7mm rem saum. I currently own a trgs in 300 win mag and as i want to use a long action for the build (so i can seat those bergers out there) should i use the rifle i have at hand or should i purchase a donor rifle or action for the build (if so what). If i was to use a long action what modifications will my smith have to make to enable the short magnums to feed etc? Is it possible to use the 180 bergers to there full potential in a short action as ideally i want to keep weight to a minimum?

From what I've seen, you will not have to make major modifications - they use virtually the same size boltface. The only mods I've seen for people using the 180 Bergers is to trim the magizines a bit and add a light filler plate to a long magizine. like this:

here is a shortcut to a gunsmith I use and he has built a fair number of shortmags including two for me in 7wsm. He has a video of feeding and some groups. This might give you a couple of ideas.
