This is my new 300WSM. Wasn't sure I was going to keep it since I have a 300WM on the way, and plans to build a 338LM, but it shot so well the first time I took it to the range I have decided to hold on to it. Built by John Whidden Rem 700 short action trued and modified to feed the WSM PT&G bolt with M16 extractor Seekins bottom metal with DBM. This one is a 5 rnd. I have a 3 rnd on order Hart #5 SS barrel at 26" with 1 in 10 twist Holland QD brake Oversize recoil lug Jewell trigger at 2.5lbs McMillan HTG with wheel adjustable cheek, and 4 flush cups Pillar bedded Leupold 20moa base with Mk4 rings. Base is bedded with epoxy. NF 3.5-15x50 Weight is 12lbs without the bipod Loads: Norma brass, 215m primers, H4350 powder, 190vld Bergers (hunting) at .012 jump Started at 62.5grs and went up to 64.0grs. Best group was at 63.5grs at an average of 2870fps. I think I'll stay there. I shot 3 rds of each load at 100yds instead of doing the ladder test. So far I'm very happy with this rifle. For now, I will stick with the 190s at 2870.
