I drew this tag for the early season hunt, not my first choice but better than no tag at all. Any ideas where to start looking, I was figuring the Santa Rosa range but trying to narrow it down..........

As posted on the RM game and fish website. "Most hunters focus on the Santa Rosa range, where one to two feet of snow is usually required to push deer from the higher elevations. If you want to get away from the crowds, try the Osgood Mountains, the Owyhee Desert and the Humboldt River drainage."

Just like most places in Nevada early hunt is a high hunt.

Good luck.

Yep, It would be a good idea to get away from the crowd. Once you find an active deer trail, it may only be a day or it might take a week but a buck will cross it if not spooked off. Just make sure the signs are fresh cause old deer trail can be really old with no activity for months.
