Need some feed back 7mm REM MAG re-barrel

I say get a 26 in tube. If you plan on loading heavy bullets then you will want slow burning powder behind them. When you use slow burning powder a long barrel is you best friend. As for diameter that depends on the application you want to use this for. For field use I like about a .850 muzzle diameter.

I have included the URL to Lilja barrels contour page.

This will give you the diameter information you wanted.

My last barrel was a Montana Rifleman barrel with a 9 1/2 twist and I am very satisfied.

You will want to use a 26 inch barrel for the size of case you are shooting, provided that you stay with 7mm Rem Mag or larger.

Good Luck.

Length

Personally, I would go upwards of 30" in a 7mm Rem Mag if available. Most are at a bit of a price increase. Take advantage of the overbore condition and capture that extra velocity. I would go with a 1:8" twist as well to use the 180gr VLD's too.
