Need for "tactical" scopes

Re: Need for \"tactical\" scopes

Pete,

Your known as a man who aims to please, so when you talk about young ladies in webbing and nothing else, its only fair to post some pics.

David.

Re: Need for \"tactical\" scopes

No David, thats from my dark and distant sordid past, you know what squaddies are like, always trying to top what the next one did, these days ive a lovely wife, 2 kids, and my only vice is hunting-shooting and the occasional 1 beer to many. Pete

Re: Need for \"tactical\" scopes

Pete

With a wife and 2 kids you get to have time for smithing shooting and having a job - what a hero

Thanks for the comments I have emailed you about Blasers and alternatives.

Can you give more detail about why you prefer the S&B to the nightforce? They are also both pretty heavy - do you think that thye overwieght a sporter type rifle?

Re: Need for \"tactical\" scopes

The Nightforce scope I HAD, besides the weight, The reticle is like having a second hobby, if hunting is slow you can always spend the day wondering what the hell it's all about. It's only what you want that really counts in the end anyway. For me sight picture clutter is not one of the factors high on my list of must do. When I first looked through the Nightforce I finaly knew where Hollywood got there idea of what a scope reticle was suppose to look like. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: Need for \"tactical\" scopes

Davyd your welcome.. I prefer the S&B because they have slightly better glass, are 1st focal plain and the rear or the scope doesn't turn when you up the x's.
Yep i'm a busy bloke, i whack a weeks work inmto 4 days in the space race, which gives me 5 maybe 7 days off to be a Husband-Dad and riflesmith. I hunt 10 minutes from work or home mostly. its all a case of planning

Re: Need for \"tactical\" scopes

Pete,
Not sure if the concept of squaddies and birds in 'respirator and webbing' would ever be understood by our (former) colonial cousins /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: Need for \"tactical\" scopes

Oh we sure do - it was duck season opening here in Australia very recently and birds with webbing were verry popular!

Resirators though - now that is getting harder to vsiualize and a bit weird. Maybe it something to dow with the way europeans prepare food - does it involve garlic and sauteed onions?
