Hi guys my custom 7mm Dakota is arriving in a week and I need some good loads preferably with heavier bullets 160grs and up? And if you guys have the velocities can please post them.
Thank you

For grins you should try some RL17. That could be a good powder in that cartridge. It might even match or exceed the 7RUM. In my 300 WSM the charge was 1 grain more than H4350. You could call Dakota and I believe they'll have load data for H4350.

The 7 Dakota is a great cartridge, would love to have one someday. Let us know how it does for you.

Good shooting,

IIRC the 7mm Dakota is the ballistic twin of the 7STW: therfore, the same starting loads should work. Retumbo seems to be the consensus choice for heavy bullets in the 7 STW

180 Berger, 76 retumbo, 215m = 3105

Both loads are max, according to me, in my rifle, here.
