Glad to hear your doing good. Took a trip out west to Wyoming. Wound up shooting to 2200 yards. Winds and bad stuff out there. Had a ball. Shot the 300 WM with 225s and my 338 with 285/300s. Pretty amazing how much better the heavy 338 bullets out class the heavy 30 caliber bullets. I'm building a 300 PRC and plan on the 230s. Should be a good LR hunting round. Shot several other 6.5/7mm rifles. All do great out to 1500 in fair weather. The 284 with 162s seemed to out gun the 6.5-284 with heavies. Ultimately the 338 ran the show. With winds at 15-25 at times and some decent windage, the 1500-1800 yard targets were pretty regularly hit with fair groups when wind slowed some. Beyond 1800, it was completely different. 2200 may as well been 2 miles in that wind but still managed several hits on 30" steel. Can't lie, misses were common as well. We never had a day to even attempt 2 miles and to be honest, the 338 LM improved just isn't enough gun. Sure on calm days it's workable but a little wind and forget it. Consistent hits and even misses would be impossible to see. The next sensible step for 2 miles is the 375/416 CheyTac.
