I am only 25, but am doing my best to learn best gunsmithing practices so I don't develop any bad habits! This is my second rifle I have rebarrelled but the first chamber I have cut. My old ultralight 7-08 Rem Model 7, now with a Shilen #5 contour 26" barrel, Bell & Carlson Medalist stock, Timney trigger and Swarovski Habicht 4-12 x 50. That's a Precision Armament M41 brake and Limb Saver dampener.

Shooting Barnes 145 gr LRX, took some trials to get a good load worked up, but it does shoot great now that I found it. Using Nosler brass w/40.5 gr R15 powder. Picture is with this load @ 100 yards, 4 shots.

Building rifles is addictive, just bought another Rem 700 to hopefully chamber for .260 Remington with a light target barrel and a Bobby Hart LRT accublock stock from Stocky's Stocks.

benjamin2515101,

Good for you! congratulations and welcome to Longrange Hunting!

Enjoy and good shooting

Haha, actually that IS a big *** deer. My grandfather killed it in 1980, it still holds the county typical record @ 173 3/8". I'll have to take a picture and post it. He did kill it with this Model 7. Many people in my area that I consider the best deer hunters have not killed anything as big.
