Guys, My son came out to Colorado to help me close the office and move back to Michigan. We decided that since we were out here anyway, we might as well do a bit of hiking/fishing/shooting. Here are the pics from our hike into the Holy Cross Wilderness. We had intended to camp at some lakes at 12000'+ altitude, however, at around 11,000' we started getting a lot of snow on the trails and by 11,200', it made following the trail VERY difficult. So we just found a flat spot to camp and called it good. We took some pics on the walk out Sunday (Fathers Day). View of hiking area from the highway. (Ben) The stream right next to the trail. (lower altitude, probably around 10,000') Back at the trailhead, dropping our 50-60lb packs sure felt good. We had planned on staying 2-3 nights, but the snow limited our access to a bunch of great areas. Hope you all enjoy the pics, AJ
