We went out to shoot this afternoon/evening, so I got the chance to foul my rifle before deer season. We were shooting 1475 yards. The conditions were great. Wind 0-4 mph@900 o'clock, 28.43 Baro/55 degrees/58 % humidity. Range confirmed with Leica 1600. Kestrel 3500 for conditions. Loaded conditions into Ballistic which computed 43.59 U/4.67 L. Shooting from a clean bore, 0 for 5, no hits. I kept taking wind out, this wasnt the problem. Ended up coming up 1 MOA and hit bottom of plate. Reevaluated my conditions, used 29.92 for Baro, everything else stayed the same. Ballistic computed 45.68 U/5 L, I used 45.5 U/5 L. Bullet impacted to the right of center between 1-2 o'clock. Fired another and hit right, 3 o'clock. Fired a third and missed right. Took a break while others shoot and then fired one additional round. Hit between the 1 and 3 o'clock impacts. So now confused as to why changing my Baro from 28.43 to 29.92 changed my POI 2 MOA? Absolute was not enabled. I didn't think it would have that much of a difference!!! From now on 29.92 will be what I use! This is a 24" plate.
