[QUOTE="chuck plissken, post: 975333, member: 42096"] starting the break-in process of my custom 338 rum. 27" Lilja 1-10 twist. Using a basic Shooting Chrony to record data and shooting at about 4000 feet elevation. Graph is 10-12 ft away. 86.0gr H1000 3.580" COAL 300gr Sierra Matchkings 1 - 2662 FPS 2 - 2691 FPS tad fast I thought... 3 - 2622 FPS 4 - ERROR 5 - 2635 FPS Big extreme spread on first 4 shots. 87.0gr H1000 3.580" COAL 300gr Sierra Matchkings 1 - 2673 FPS 2 - 2711 FPS 3 - 2725 FPS 4 - 2681 FPS 5 - 2711 FPS extreme spread better on this 5 shot group, not great yet. 88.0gr H1000 3.650" COAL 300gr Sierra Matchkings 1 - 2717 FPS 2 - 2722 FPS 3 - 2705 FPS 4 - ERROR 5 - 2730 FPS extreme spread better again on this group. I can live with this. Would like 2750 adverage but its just a number. Anyone have any results similar? I thought this was a tad fast but alot of my S&W 44 magnum and Glock 10mm handgun loads do match the manuals data I use. Hodgdons site and my loads do not match well...
