I am looking for any and all opinions on what muzzle break to install on a factory Rem 700 sporter taper in a .338 ultra mag. thanks for your time, Ron Tilley

Ron,
I make and install my own design of muzzle brake. I prefer a shorter brake in length but with bigger holes. When the exiting gases escape the barrels muzzle, the first row of cross holes take the brunt of redirected exiting gases, with each successive croos hole row a little less. With the larger holes you can redirect the exiting gases quicker, resulting in less felt recoil. Here is a link to a photo of my brakes.

Thank you Montour for replying, I had purchased a Defensive Edge break before you posted, I had asked this question on quite a few other forums and the D E break was the most popular. again, thank you, Ron Tilley
