Hello everyone,

I was thinking about building a mountain rifle, but one on a budget, so no carbon fiber here. I was looking for a really lightweight stock for a savage model 10, yet under $300 give or take. The stock can be unfinished, as I have refinished stocks in the past. Probably 308 caliber. What do you guys think for stock options?

I would look at bell and carlson in that price range. Mcmillan makes an uitra lite, but im pretty sure its going to run 500+.

The factory synthetic stock is as light as you'll get without spending big money. How light are you looking to make the complete rifle?
