Normally, we'd be ice fishing right now. But since we don't have any ice (or snow for that matter) we hit Flathead for Lakers. Boated 8 that were 5-10lbs, and the big boy in the pics. He was 22.9lbs, 39in. and had the two whitefish shown with him in his mouth (the tail of the fresher looking one was still sticking out of his mouth when I landed him, it weighed 1.4lbs itself) He's not my best Laker, but he did make the top ten. I know it's not exactly "long range", but we were long-line trolling (450ft of fireline out), so I'm gonna count him:D!
Any body else switching over to "fish hunting" now that most of the big-game seasons are over?

I hit the whitefish in the fall and the pike pretty hard right after freeze up. Just lost
my taste for fishing lakers for awhile. Pics like those perk my interest though. :)
