Tim is getting 3300 out of 140grs with a 24" tube. Pretty sure you won't get that out of a 264 win mag. My experience in getting incredible accuracy out of the wby case is effortless. I can take any "Tim Built" 270wby and load 140's of top of 69.5-71.5grs of VitN560 and it is going to shoot bug holes. I really don't need to try anything else. Sure you can make some gains in velocity in a 6.5stw or some variation but 20 more grs of powder for 50-75fps is not a super idea. Increased case capacity does not necessarily equal more performance. I can get 3150 out of a 300win mag 180gr with 75grs of 4831. I can get 3400 out of a 30-378 180gr with 117grs of H870. Obiviously that wby case is not terribly efficient. As far as the price of brass goes, many that buy a 4k dollar rifle are not concerned about an extra 75cents to a dollar a round.
