    M1 Grand experts wanted.gun)

I have an original (no rebuilds) M1 Grand that is in very good shape that I have owned for over 30 years.
I shoot it a good deal every year and I keep it in good shape having been trained by a competent gun smith on what, how and where M1’s need work.
The one thing I have never asked about is STOCK CARE.
Since the inside of a Grand does get dirty I normally wipe it out with a clean cloth.
    Grand experts,,,,
What do you use on the inner side of your stocks, to clean and maintain it???
    Thank you all.

    By the way,,,
    This IS a great site.

Hay I have a lot of old Military rifles so I will add my two cents. Dont know how much feed back you will get as this is a Long Range hunting site but this topic intrest me so here you go.

Wood on old Battle rifles is allmost allways stained from years of oiling the weapon. When ever I get a new gun I strip the stock down and then settle in to my bench with my heat gun and set to leaching the oil from the stock.

I dont do anything special to the wood after I have leached out the oil except try to wipe it down and with a damp cloth once and a while.

Short awnser to your question I guess is I do nothing but keep them clean.
