OK, give me your best shots here. JUst had two disks taken out of the neck and looking at back surgery later this year. BTW, 1000+ jumps, 24 years in SF, 2 parachute accidents, three broken vertabrae will catch up with you at age 60 in case you 20 yr olds do not believe that. What you walk away from at 20 will bite you in the *** later. Looks like I may have to give up heavy recoiling large caliber rifles and shotguns. I have a super nice 6.5x47 in a Bobby Harts LR stock that I shoot steel mtaches with that I can transfer to a hunting style stock or just build something. It smokes with 130 berger huting bullets. Nice NXS 8x32 NF sets on it. Stopped by Sierra last week in Sedalia, MO and Rich Machholz. recommended their100 SBT for my 25-06 instead of the 117-120s I have been shooting. BTW, their outlet store has everything in stock except 357, 9mm and some 223. go figure why. Bought $1000 of bullets for myself and friend. They are seconds and must be sorted and weighed, but 1/3 the cost AND available. If you are ever by there, it is worth the stop. Just heads up, I may have to sell a super 338 Lapua AI that is a smoker, 308 tactical and a 300 WSM light weight hunting rifle later, depending on what the doc says. Hell, even 10x14 davis wall tent and stove. Tons of brass, ammo and custom dies for all three. Due to back and neck, so no longer can backpack or carry one even. Injuries and old age suck!gun) So who has a light recoiling LR cartridge (for now 600-800) for large whitetail other than the 6.5x47? I have the reamer for this one. Also, looking at the savage lightweight hunter in 7mm-08 with 120 BTips for 300 and under. Let's hear it.
